One of our most popular urn categories is our hardwood cremation urns. These exceptional wood urns can be selected and purchased in a wide range of distinct and beautiful hardwoods and several can be customized to reflect the true nature of your loved one. If your loved one was compassionate and always lending a helping hand why not choose a hardwood crematory urn crafted of purpleheart. If your beloved that passed loved the cold and was outdoorsy, why not select a maple cremation urn? The possibilities are endless when you shop at Everlasting Memories.
Care for your hardwood cremation urn is relatively easy and if you follow these steps your urn should remain beautiful for a lifetime. A wood cremation urn can be gently wiped with a dry cloth to remove any dust build up. You can also use a small amount of furniture polish to shine the outer surface of your wood individual urn. It is preferable that you keep your hardwood urn out of direct light as constant exposure over time will cause the wood to dry and crack. Also, do not polish your hardwood companion urn or keepsake with water as water that is left on the urn can spot and eventually warp the wood.
You can care for your hardwood urn by:
- wiping with a dry cloth
- keeping out of direct light
- never wiping with water
Marble and glass urns can be gently cleaned using a small amount of glass cleaner or other non-abrasive surface cleaner. These exceptional urns look their best when they are free of any dust build up or any surface grime and you can wipe them gently with a soft cloth. We do suggest that you spray any glass cleaner very sparingly on the surface of the urn to keep any seepage from going into the interior. Be sure to remove all remnants of the cleaner as they can very quickly and easily stain the surface of your marble cremation urn if not removed. Marble and glass can be exposed to direct light but we do suggest that you refrain from constant direct light on your glass or marble memorial urn.
Our ceramic urns can be gently wiped clean with a dry cloth to remove any dust build up or other surface dirt. If you choose to dampen the cloth we suggest that you do so sparingly as you do not want to saturate the urn. Dry completely and store in a place in your home where the urn is protected. Ceramic cremation urns are not as durable as wood crematory urns and can break easily if knocked over.
We carry a wide range of metal urns at Everlasting Memories and the care and keeping of these urns is exceptionally important. You should never wipe down your metal urn with a damp cloth as over time this can cause the urn to deteriorate and rust. A soft dry cloth is best used to remove any debris from the outside of your cremation urn and you should store your urn away from direct sunlight. Consistent and direct sunlight can cause the metal to slightly heat and bend if grasped too tightly. Also, for those instances where a brass or silver plate was added to the surface of the urn, direct light could cause the plate to loosen and disengage.
Everlasting Memories has a beautiful array of cremation jewelry urns that will hold a very small remembrance of your loved ones. These exceptional keepsakes can be cared for as you would any high end jewelry item in order to preserve the longevity of your reminder towards your loved one. You can gently polish your urn pendant with a soft cloth and under no circumstances should you ever immerse your keepsake in jewelry cleaner. The best type of cloth to use is a jeweler's polishing cloth as the white or light gray side of the cloth will typically remove any oils or sediments that have been left behind on the keepsake and the other part of the cloth will typically add a polish to the keepsake.
You can choose from a complete selection of distinct and beautiful urns to help you honor those that have passed away. Our cremation urns have been crafted of wood, marble, metals and come in a large array of different sizes. The care and keeping of your cremation urn is very important in order to preserve the beauty and longevity of your memorial cremation urn or jewelry. We suggest always erring on the side of caution and if uncertain, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service representatives. They will be happy to answer any questions or assist you with how to care for your cremation urn.
