About the Artist - Stephen Canneto
Stephen Canneto is recognized across the world for his sculptures. His first memorial was designed in Israel in 1967 and was in honor of the victims of the Six Day War. Inspired by his life experiences, Canneto brings those interpretations to life in his art. His work incorporates the beauty and inspiration of the environment with which the pieces occupy but also strives to create a personal connection and impact with the community. Canneto has collections in several countries as well as works for corporations, residences and inspirational public spaces. Canneto has received several awards for his work including the American Institute of Landscape Architects Honor Award and the State of Ohio Gold Star Award. His work has been featured in the Smithsonian and he is also the Founding Director of ArtSafe, a not-for-profit organization established to provide opportunities for communities to use the arts to create a safe and nurturing environment for children and adults. Canneto eventually turned his artistic talent to cremation urns. His urns capture the spirit of the individual and the human connection that allows for family to remember those they have lost with a beautiful piece of artwork. Canneto currently resides in Columbus, Ohio, and continues to create an exclusive collection of cremation urns that incorporate themes from nature and human interaction.
Choose the Dance of Life Keepsake in bronze as a way to hold a small part of the ashes of your loved one. The solid brass urn is hand cast, hand finished and has been individually patinaed by a craftsman, giving each urn unique and individual qualities. The top of the urn features two figures that are joined as one in a symbolic pledge of devotion to one another forever. The base of the urn will hold about 19 cubic inches of ashes and can be placed on a pedestal or anywhere in the home as a personal shrine for remembering those that have passed from your life.
