About the Artist - Stephen Canneto
Stephen Canneto is recognized across the world for his sculptures. His first memorial was designed in Israel in 1967 and was in honor of the victims of the Six Day War. Inspired by his life experiences, Canneto brings those interpretations to life in his art. His work incorporates the beauty and inspiration of the environment with which the pieces occupy but also strives to create a personal connection and impact with the community. Canneto has collections in several countries as well as works for corporations, residences and inspirational public spaces. Canneto has received several awards for his work including the American Institute of Landscape Architects Honor Award and the State of Ohio Gold Star Award. His work has been featured in the Smithsonian and he is also the Founding Director of ArtSafe, a not-for-profit organization established to provide opportunities for communities to use the arts to create a safe and nurturing environment for children and adults. Canneto eventually turned his artistic talent to cremation urns. His urns capture the spirit of the individual and the human connection that allows for family to remember those they have lost with a beautiful piece of artwork. Canneto currently resides in Columbus, Ohio, and continues to create an exclusive collection of cremation urns that incorporate themes from nature and human interaction.
The Dance of Life Sharing - Wood cremation urn takes a modern approach to honoring the lives of those we have lost. This artistic urn is hand cast resin cultured wood and each has been hand finished and hand painted, making no two urns exactly alike. The wood figures on the top feature a man and a woman, dancing, joined eternally, weaving their way through the intricate steps of life. A touching representation of the love shared between a couple and the delicate balance with which they navigate through life, the urns hold a smaller amount than what an individual size urn does. Should families or loved ones choose to divide up the ashes between many members of the family, the urn allows for a beautiful resting place of a smaller remembrance. Each Dance of Life Sharing - Wood memorial urns are signed by the artist as well as dated and copyrighted. The urn not only makes for a way of preserving the memory of your loved one but also is a beautiful piece of art to add to your home. Size 18"h x 8"diameter
