About the Artist - Stephen Canneto
Stephen Canneto is recognized across the world for his sculptures. His first memorial was designed in Israel in 1967 and was in honor of the victims of the Six Day War. Inspired by his life experiences, Canneto brings those interpretations to life in his art. His work incorporates the beauty and inspiration of the environment with which the pieces occupy but also strives to create a personal connection and impact with the community. Canneto has collections in several countries as well as works for corporations, residences and inspirational public spaces. Canneto has received several awards for his work including the American Institute of Landscape Architects Honor Award and the State of Ohio Gold Star Award. His work has been featured in the Smithsonian and he is also the Founding Director of ArtSafe, a not-for-profit organization established to provide opportunities for communities to use the arts to create a safe and nurturing environment for children and adults. Canneto eventually turned his artistic talent to cremation urns. His urns capture the spirit of the individual and the human connection that allows for family to remember those they have lost with a beautiful piece of artwork. Canneto currently resides in Columbus, Ohio, and continues to create an exclusive collection of cremation urns that incorporate themes from nature and human interaction.
Select the Infinity Wood Rose Cross cremation urn as a way to remember the love, the devotion and the dedication to those that have passed. The artist uses trees as the inspiration and the base of the resin cultured wood lends a likeness to tree trunks. The individually finished and painted urn has a finish that goes from rough, like the outer bark of a tree, to smooth, as if the bark had been removed, with ribbon decorative designs on the top. A petite candle sits in the middle of the ribbons and the candle can remain lit or lit on occasion. The urn is rich in symbolism, with the ribbons as a reminder of the ups and downs of our lives and the candle as a reminder that our inner spark never leaves. An opened rose atop of a cross is the decorative accent on the front and is the ideal finishing touch to a stunning work of art. Size 10 3/4"h x 6"d
